At the edge of the Arctic, summer nights never truly darken. In the early hours of July 3, as the world slept, I stood in silence at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. The fog that had cloaked the ice began to lift, revealing a dreamlike scene, glaciers floating beneath a sky painted in hues of soft pink and lavender, illuminated by the midnight sun.
Visiting these vast, iconic landscapes at night offers a rare solitude. The usual crowds are absent, leaving only the quiet hum of nature, the gentle lapping of water against ice, the distant creaks of shifting glaciers, the soft whispers of the wind.
